Arrived Safely in Haiti

Hello friends,

I have arrived safe in Haiti and spent the late afternoon in meetings assessing the situation on the ground in CAP.  I flew over with several Haitian doctors from the states.  They all wanted to get to Port upon arrival but they were meet at the airport from a local doctor who they all know.  He told them to get over to his clinic for he has 50 people that need help right now.  So this group will be working through the night operation on the most urgent cases, then drive all day Sat to Port.  Pray for these warriors.  How inspiring.  One of the doctors I sat next to on the Leer Jet found out via text message that her sister in Port lost both of her hands.  The pain from this disaster now had a real face for me.  God, give me strength.  (more…)

Kathy and I have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of calls and emails of encouragement and offers of support.  What an amazing display to see the body of Christ rally together for a common cause.  Yesterday was a hectic day with trying to acquire information about our friends in Haiti, and to respond to the out pouring of support.

Ti Ta To Game board interview





Open Door Haiti US director Brian Stout discusses the potential of the Ti Ta To Game board sales and how it will affect the Haitian people.

Angie Draskovic is the founder and president of Zoe Alliance, a company that sells gift items made in impoverished villages. The company pays the people who craft the items a fair wage and also puts 10 per cent from each item back into the community. The business relationship encourages economic development in the villages, including Bois de Lance in northern Haiti where local artists create a handmade wooden game called Ti Ta To 10.
