Mission Trips
Open Door Haiti typically runs trips to Haiti monthly to help with current projects. And if you or your church has ever considered a mission trip, Open Door Haiti may be the right fit for you.
The “mission” experience
Missionaries meet the night before we fly out in Ft. Pierce Florida to get to know each other. It’s common to have a sense of anticipation at this point. Early to bed though as we start before daybreak.

Early morning we assemble at the Ft. Pierce regional airport to weigh our baggage and get our seat assignments. Oops… there are no seat assignments. Sit where you like. After a quick prayer, Missionary Flights International (a Christian aviation company dedicated to missionary support) escorts missionaries onto a DC-3 cargo plane fitted with comfortable seating. 4-hours later we arrive in Cap Haitian.
After a quick 20-minute ride in a “tap-tap” from the airport, you arrive in Bois de Lance, where the Open Door Haiti church is located. After finding your room, touring the ministry and decompressing for a little bit, you are briefed on what to expect and the projects that await you.
From this point you will have plenty of opportunities to meet the local people, eat some unique foods, help in immeasurable ways, and experience something that is truly life changing. Five days later you return home with open eyes and a refreshed spirit with a heart for giving. It is an experience of a lifetime!
